Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. At the age five she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma knew she would like to be an actress and for several years, she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied the art of acting and dancing. When she was ten, she had performed and taken part in many Stagecoach shows and school productions. The casting process began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford drama instructor. After eight consecutive auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001.
